Details of organisations providing support for commissioners:

 

APHOs 

The Association of Public Health Observatories represents a network of 12 PHOs. They produce information, data and intelligence on people's health and health care for practitioners, policy makers and the wider community. Their expertise lies in turning information and data into meaningful health intelligence. Polciy interpretaion, training for analysts, support for needs asssessment and marketing skills.

 

Commissioning Support for London exists to "provide clinical and business support to NHS commissioners across London", including production of a set of products which will make commissioning decisions easier and more efficient.

Improvement Foundation (Commissioning Healthcare Services)

 

NHS Information Centre (Commissioning) 

The NHS IC acts as a hub for high quality, national, comparative data for secondary uses.

NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement (Commissioning)

It has developed, and is continuing to work with primary care trusts to improve, a number of products that focus on the world class commissioning competencies.

National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE)
